Fun with accents

Today marks the release of the third instalment of a WWII comedy audio drama that I have a part in, Help! I Tripped on my Cloak and Dagger!

I play a young SAS sergeant reluctantly working with an American OSS lieutenant. When they called for auditions for the part, I thought I would send in something that you don't hear much, a scouse accent. Probably best known as the accent of the Beatles, Thomas The Tank Engine and Rimmer from Red Dwarf, it is a combination of the lilting Welsh and Irish accents, tempered by the flatness of a Lancashire dialect.

It also gave me the chance to flirt outrageously and get away with it because it was all in the name of art! LOL!
